Opus X Price increase?

So I was at my local B&M the other day and they had just gotten a shipment of Opus X in. I was very excited until I saw the prices! The owner then proceded to tell me that the wholesale prices on Opus had almost doubled and that he was just as shocked as I was when he looked at the invoice. He said when he called his sales rep he was told that because of the flooding at the farms in the D.R. last year and the loss of production/increase in demand they decided to raise the prices of their products. Has any one else seen this going on and are there any other manufactures going to do this with other in demand lines, i.e. Pepin, Padron, Etc.

I don't think he is. I have shopped there for years and he has always been honest with me and none of his other prices are out of line.

the only reason he would of had a price increase is if he didn't buy direct and bought a few boxes from a distributor and had to pay over cost.

Given the weakness of the overall markets and the flagging value of the US Dollar, I wouldn't be surprised if we see more price increases.

The B&M I bought my Opus X from told me that a liquor store chain here in Houston buys their Opus X retail then they have to raise the price for the cigars to almost double.
