Thumbs up BigJim's Godfather Black vs. ISOM Partages

I'm up at BigJim's and he was feeling crazy so we did a side by side taste of his Godfather Black Label and a ISOM Partages. The first thing I noticed was that the godfather is a far better looking stick. It's wrapper has a nice oily sheen to it and it has only been 3 weeks after rolling. The Partages has been laying in Jim's humi for 1yr.

Now I'm not going into a full review but they both tasted great. The Godfather Black is just as good as the Partages! BigJim has got a real hit on his hand. The Black is a great cigar. It also is a far less expensive stick then the partagas. Also the burn on the Godfather was better.

So my recommendation is when he gets the Godfather Black to the market, you need to buy it. Or move to Charleston, SC where you can get them easier.

So when did the burn go bad on the Partages? Can't see a bad burn from either cigar in those pics! I would love to hear a full review on the GF.

What both Ed and I noticed was that each cigar had moments when the flavor would just jump at you... we were surprised at how at one minute one would hit you as cedary, nutty, leathery... then the other would kick in with exactly the same flavor... uncanny as to how close they tasted, how close they were in strength... smoothness... everything ...

I gotta tell ya... that made for a perfect morning and the best cup of coffee I've had in days...

Yep... the Black Label and the Grey Label have oily wrappers... which means they will produce a tad bit more ammonia after being rolled... they just need to sit for a bit (same recommendation for any cigar... smell 'em, rest 'em, if they have that green smell... let 'em rest a bit more before smoking)...

... but... if ya' don't mind a little bitter, green kinda taste... smoke 'em anyway
sorry, that was kinda hard core ...
lord I apologize...
