Wow! My first Cohiba from ISOM!
What a great couple of days I've had. Yesterday I came into possession of 6 ISOM Cohibas, the ones with the checkerboard bands. I promptly placed them safely in my humi and was waiting for the right occasion to light one up. This morning My wife and I took a spin to the dealer and traded in my '07 Harley Ultra Classic for an '09 Street Glide in sunfire red pearl. Needles to say I was stoked. When we returned home I decided that this was the time to bask in the glow and enjoy something really nice. The pre light aroma coming off these sticks is unlike anything I've ever had. It's almost perfume like. The pre light flavors were intense and flavorful. As to be expected, the draw (punch cut) was perfect as was the construction and razor fine burn. The first 1/4 inch seemed pretty normal and then it kicked in. What an absolutely fantastic smoke! It never required a touch up from beginning to nub. You BOTLS and SOTLS in the Great White North may not appreciate them but I suspect you do. It was beyond a doubt the finest cigar I've ever encountered. I'm fairly new to smoking quality cigars but I have tried many expensive smokes, many of which I really enjoyed. Nothing compares to these cigars. My new quest is to find something comparable to them made elsewhere. The Cohibas that are available to me don't even come close. Can anyone tell me what other stick rolled elsewhere might be similar? Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

One of my best memories from this summer was sitting in the cigar lounge at the Valentin Imperial in Playa del Carmen smoking a Cohiba. Fantastic cigar.

Puffer Fish with some spikes

My father and I just smoked these to celebrate his 60th birthday. They were from the same pack. Mine had all sorts of burn and construction issues, while his was just about a perfect cigar. Mine was soft and loosely packed. It was so bad that when you took a draw the wrapper actually would collapse in like there was a big void in it. The thing canoed from the beginning and the ash kinda feathered out like an exploding cigar. My father's on the other hand was probably the most picture perfect burn I have ever seen. Perfect ring, ash heald together very well. Nice color. Other than all the burn issues, I have to say that the cigar was mighty tastey. I really had to push through it to finish, but it was my first cohiba and I really didn't want to waste it.
