Question about Cigars, Storage, and Passes. All in one.

I have been in a few passes lately and had the following question to members to see what their thoughts are.

If you have several cigar fingers bags and they are sealed (locked) then placed in a gallon ziplock with some sort of humidification (pillows, packets, etc) and sealed too, what is the logic of sealing (locking) the smaller finger bags if you want to humidify the cigars. My thoughts are to leave them open so that the humidity has a chance to reach the cigars. If they are properly packed they should not fall out the finger bags. Make sense of what I am talking about?

Agreed. I usually try to leave them open. For instance, I used them for storage in my coolidor, and always make sure that part of the zipper is open to let the humidity in.

My theory is that I am putting a perfectly humidified cigar in the five finger bag. Because there is a humidification pough in the bigger ziplock bag, there is even less chance of the cigar drying out.

Yes, it does to me, like what Mike said earlier, right?

I see what you are saying at the start of the pass, but how does that account for people in the pass opening the bags of the cigars in a less than optimal humidity environment and the much drier air or people putting cigars in that have a less than optimal humidity.

My thought is the opened bag will give it a chance to have a more equalized humidity.

I would thinking leaving them open is the way to go with this one. You getting ready to do a new pass?
