citrus juice like lemon, lime and orange or strong fresh coffee is what works for me. since you are doing this in the evening, fresh orange juice should do the trick.

Maybe your smoking the wrong cigars back to back. You should start mild and work your way up in strength. Did I win?

Some of us don't need a 15-20 minute break between, um, our pleasures.. Don't worry, it happens to a lot of guys. Maybe it's just stress?

Something that works for wine tasters is cheese. I've tried it a few times and it seems to work. But I suggest not eating the strong tasting cheeses -- stick with something mild like swiss.

I'll 2nd the lemon or lime water (I like orange personally). Coffee works well. Have a slice of bread or unsalted crackers to help absorb left over flavors. I would advise against brushing your teeth if you are planning on smoking a 2nd one. The toothpaste could affect the taste of the 2nd cigar.

If you are at a bar I recommend coffee or scotch whiskey ( drambuie my fav ) and if you are home then the citrus beverage works well. If you brush your teeth then you get the flavor of the paste which doesn't quite mix with tobacco smoke. I don't have a problem mixing cigars esp. due to the fact that I like full bodied cigars.

I just have a good beverage with my cigar. If the beverage is right, then the pallet is in pretty good shape for the second cigar. I do start out lighter on my first cigar, and then proceed with a more full bodied cigars as I go.

I don't really do anything other then light the next one up. I will try starting with the milder cigars. I don't have a problem tasting the difference untill I hit number 7 or 8
