Graycliff Double Expresso

So tonight I enjoyed my first Graycliff Double Expresso, OMG what a stick! Now I had heard great things about this cigar and had high expectations already but even those were exceeded! I had recently picked it up from a pass and must say it had everything a full flavor/bodied guy like myself could want.

Prelight: Great construction a little spongy to the pinch but not too much. Wrapper is flawless and dark just oozing with oils. The scent of the cigar is rich and strong with hints of expresso and strong tobacco. It cut perfectly.

Prelight Draw: Could already taste the notes of coffee, chocolate and just a high quality tobacco taste overall. Draw is very loose but not too tight.

1st Half: Right off the bat this cigar kicks in with great flavor, lots of leather hints here and there of vanilla a bit of coffee in the background. The smoke is thick and velvety in texture and smelled great. As I got into the cigar a bit the flavor just kept getting more complex as well as stronger. It was not the type of strong that makes you sick or ruins the taste but a very pleasant strength that was not overpowering, I would compare it to the strength of the CAO LX2 in the sense that although it is a strong cigar when being blended they did a great job in making a pleasant strength as oppose to a harsh one.

2nd Half:
By midway the cigar is in full swing and is showing lots of expresso bean flavors and a light chocolate flavor as well as loads of leather and top notch tobacco (not sure how else to describe it but there is a certain flavor to really good tobacco). It had peaked as far as complexity and flavors (not in a bad way, because it was delicious, but just to say it did not get more complex after this point) but there was still increasing strength that I felt in my stomach (in a good way). Still dishing out lots of smoke and a great aroma. I smoked this bad boy all the way down to my fingers.

Conclusion:
Great stick for anyone who likes full bodied and flavored cigars. If you like things like the VSG, Padron 62'/64', LX2, etc you will love this stick. I know that it is pricey so if I get more in the future it will be in a trade or a special. If you ever have the opportunity to try one I highly recommend taking it.

I'm not a GC fan, but I got one of these as a hitchhiker on a split awhile ago and it was an awesome smoke. Always thought I about getting more but never got around to it. Great review. Definitely need to get some more of these now..

This is one of my top 10 cigars. It has all of the qualities I enjoy in a cigar, did you notice the mouth feel, it is like the way chocolate coats the mouth. Thick plentiful smoke, slow burn, and incredible flavors, complex and changing, all good...Watch the devil site for deals on 5er's and if your lucky the 18 bundle (thats the one I look for)... They are best at about 60-65% humi, the flavors really come out at that humi...One of the worlds finest smokes IMHO...

Right on GreySmoke, I agree 100% with the slow burn comment, the small robusto I enjoyed lasted an incredible amount of time!

CI had a deal on 5 packs for the dbl espresso... but they are sold out and they don't have an ETA on when it will be back in stock. And I haven't had any luck at my local B&M's with finding graycliff's

I picked up a bunch of the 1666 sticks. They're also soft but flavorful. I was disappointed with the smoke overall but look forward to trying them again after some more rest. The double espresso sounds interesting enough to try if I can get a deal on a few. So far I don't think the Greycliffs are worth their MSRP.
