Montecristo White - "El Bebe" - New Vitola

first of all, i would like all forum members to keep this on the down low, try not to nag your B&M owners about it etc.

my local B&M has a very good relationship with Altaidis, and was selected to participate in market testing of a new vitola.
it will be called "El Bebe". it is spanish for the baby, and it is a never before regular production vitola.

he gave me a pack of 10, apparently they will go for ~$2.50 a pop, they are rolled by master torcedors, due to their diminutive size.

he told me that they are marketed to those looking for a quick walk the dog type smoke.

ive smoked 2 already, and they have the monte white flavor i love, plus the new tiny size is something else.

they measure 46 gauge, by 2.5 Inches.

look for these at your local B&M by the end of the month, regular and platinum monte varieties will come as well.

i think this is a great step concept wise for cigar manufacturers, what do you guys think of this new innovative vitola from altadis?

While I am very in favor of the increasing number of Petit Robusto vitolas on the market; I must say anything shorter than 3" loses appeal to me.

Thanks for the info though.

I used to like the old Cupido Knuckles and I think they were the same size... would be a completely different flavor profile from Monte Whites but the size on the old Cupidos was great for a quick smoke... this looks interesting...

Interesting but a little small for me also, heck I wouldn't make it around the block.

I don't light my smokes in my mouth anyway so it doesn't matter. My experience is - if you light a cigar in your hand by toasting the foot good (white ash starts to form all around) and then blow softly on it until the burn is even it usually performs better and reduces burn problems. Of course this usually does work better with a torch lighter. If you light this little sucker that way you shouldn't have a singe problem and nobody will ask you why your eyelashes are missing. Give it a try.

Looks a little short for my taste, I would prefer to smoke a smaller ring guage cigar (CAO Brazilia Pirhana?) than to smoke 1/3 of a 50 guage stogie, just my

Or small, old dog without bladder control.

(I'm not beating on you Kenmon - you already know I have a soft spot for Monte Whites. The Bebe looks interesting to me, too. Good find.)
