IF the schip program adds a Floor tax for what we have in stock , well I have a cigar shop for sale , all the stock will be transfered to my Home humidor ..............

Politicians don't care how much tobacco costs. They are all rich and can afford to spend whatever they chose on whatever vice they have. The bill will probably get passed to make them all look good and we will all take it in the shorts. If that bill gets passed it will be a lot cheaper to smoke isoms as they are comarable in price now.

Word has it that wording on SCHIP is already done, they have all the votes they need, and they are just waiting for the new president and the new house/senate to reconvene. The current bill expires at the end of March... I think. Say anything you want about Bush, but he was staunch in his opposition to expanding socialized medicine, which is exactly what SCHIP is. Now there is no veto standing in the way of this bill. You will be paying more for cigars by as early as this spring or summer (and this time you won't be able to blame Pepin!!).

If this imposes a floor tax to existing product our shop is so screwed! I am sure if that si the case ur shop would be knocked pretty hard as well! I am stocking the living sh!t outta cigars until then. Sadly enough i may knock cigars down to a once a week habbit just so i can continue to smoke wha ti like. Can u imiagine the cost on a Padron 40th out the door after this thing goes through! Ouch it is gonna hurt! Stock up now. that or start working on ur isom connections lol

Are there any online retailers that sell "domestic" (aka nicaruagan, hondouran, dominican) cigars that are in a foreign country that we could possibly evade this stupid tax?

I invited him to hae a cigar with me 2 years ago when he spoke at our church denomination's general synod. this was before he declared his running. I received a response from some "handler" stating it wouldn't be able to happen as the press wouldnt be favorable...I responded that it was only a cigar with myself and a couple of other people, didnt have to have any press there (in fact I would prefer no press). the response was that it wasnt going to happen no matter what.
