Humidification needed

As a general rule, how long should it take a box/bundle of cigars sitting in a humi to acquire the 65-70% humidty in the humi? I at least open my boxes/bundles to aid in humidification. Do I need to get one of those fancy, schmancy cigar humidification probes?

Let them sit for a week and you should be fine.

When you get them...if you've gotten them online...they're probably "wet" to begin with. Let them dry box for a few days, then put them in the humi/cooler for a week, as said above, and you should be good to go.

I just bought a Xikar humidification device along with the poly glycol solution. I set it up last night and the humidity is at 70%. I would recommend a product like this for ease of use.

As a general rule, I let my non-Habanos sit about two weeks; 30 days for all others.

I would say at least a week, but sometimes I can't wait LOL. Just go by how the cigar feels. Roll it between your fingers, if its hard, feels dry and you can hear it then its to dry. If it way spongy or even the wrapper at foot could be spliting, then its to wet.

I have pretty strict rules when it comes to this. I smoke them after they have sit for about 2 weeks. Sometimes for a couple of months, or as soon as I get them.

My personal practice, boxes at least 60 days, and that is minimal.
