1st ISOM!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL!
Went into one of the humis and pulled out one of the Vega Robaina Classico's that had been sitting for about 9 months - what an exceptional cigar! Awesome start to the day!

The construction was superb - milk chocolate silky wrapper - burn was great with grey & black ash - draw was perfect which isn't always the case with Lanceros.

Strength was medium-full but what was surprising was the lightness to it - didn't have the heavy fullness of the Nic. It really tantalized the palate like a 40 to 80 yr. old cognac.

Taste was fantastic with cedar, cinnamon, caramel and some fruit that I couldn't pin down - it didn't overpower, but just rolled around and was totally delicious. There was some spice to the beginning and end that really tingled the taste buds - there was an underlying sweetness throughout
that I have never experienced.

All in all it was a fantastic cigar that I enjoyed to the very end - will definitely be repeating the experience often in the future. Doesn't mean I like all of the other non-ISOM cigars any less though!

Sounds like a pleasurable cigar. I had a ISOM when I went on a cruise a while back but i think it was a fake. I have a few real deals that i'll have to break out now that you got me curious.

Sounds like you found an awesome cigar! Hope you have some more of them in your humi. And if so the question is do you smoke them all now, or chance longer age on them taking away some of what you really enjoyed in it? Hopefully they will just keep getting better.

It was pretty damn good! Fortunately there are a couple left but seems that I might soon be able to indulge often in the future - I'm going to let the ones I have sit for a while longer - been informed that Cubans will only get better for up to 15 years. Alejandro Robaina is legendary in the cigar industry - can understand after yesterday's cigar.

You picked a good smoke. The Bolivar Belicosa Fina is also one of ISOM's better smokes. You are right in that not all of there sticks are that good. Between consistency issues and the ever present fakes. Even the much touted Cohibas are sometimes disappointing. Ask around and you will have a list of those smokes worth trying.
