Cohiba Puro Dominicana

I heard great things about this cigar after the IPCPR (RTDA) show. But when they came out the prices are crazy, my local B&M. Corona $13.50, Robusto $17.00, Toro $19,50, and Churchill $20.50.

I really want to try this cigar but am scared of spending that kind of money on something I know nothing about. Has anybody here tried this cigar? What are your thoughts?

It's still a Cohiba... <G> I don't think I'll be trying one, unless I hear a lot of good stuff here on CigarLive about it.

It's General Cigar's journey into the Dominican Puro world. I have smoked the Aurora Anos, LG Diez and Opus. The Cohiba is not in their league. It is a really nice smoke if you like the flavor profile of the Dom puro, but not at that price. JMHO

I'm glad I saw this thread. Just yesterday I was eyeballing it and I was considering going back for it. I think I'll hold off a while on this one. Thanks Mike!

No Dominican puro is worth $13/stick, including Opus. Just my 2¢.

Well I bit the bullet and purchased a corona. I like that size and wanted to see if General stepped up to the plate in the post Opus, LG, Vision era. I felt the way most do regarding the price. To me the cigar is fantastic but not at that Price. I will say the same thing about the other DR Puros as well. They are pricey but you won't find anything as good for less. The Cohiba being the most expensive of them all at MSRP I still give it a thumbs up. There is no way to win on this one. If you like it you're pissed because it cost so much and if you don't like it you're pissed off because it cost so much. I liked it enough to purchase a couple more sticks. I say, give it a try. Until now, everyone I talked to who tried it really loved it. This list includes people like Eddie Ortega when he was in Houston and several of the local cigar reps who sell other top brands.

Yeah Cliff I'm going to have to give it a shot, maybe next time I'm at a B&M. And prob the same size you did, 1 because I like that size and 2 its the cheapest one LOL
