I was thinking of some newspaper articles that might chenge the perception of smoking (with tongue in cheek) and came up with this... anyone have any other ideas to promote smoking???

With the passage of the S-CHIP bill, America needs more smokers! Over the next 5 years, it is estimated that 22 million new smokers are needed to generate the $32b in funding for the S-CHIP program. While the vast majority of the money is generated from cigarettes, cigar smokers will also be hit with this consumption tax. What a lucky break for the kids! Everyone knows of the generosity of the cigar smoker. Expect to see cigar smoking on the rise, as these saint-like folks start smoking more.... after all, it's for the children![/SIZE]

The Native Americans smoked tobacco to keep away evil spirits and to commune with their ancestors. When I smoke, I'm attempting to do the same thing, and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. When those ancestors are far removed, like mine, it just means it takes even more tobacco to establish that spiritual connection.

Anyone with any Native American ancestors, which is probably about half of us, should get a religious exemption from tobacco taxes. We're being oppressed by the government, through punitive taxation.

That's right friends, smoking is now funding health care for America's children. Funding for the new SCHIP bill will come from new tobacco taxes. This goes hand in hand with the goverments new Start Smoking campaign! This campaign is geared towards getting more people to start smoking because they are going to need more smokers to fund SCHIP each year with the rising cost of health care in the US.
"We are looking at repealling all smoking bans nationwide" one US Senator was quoted earlier today. "If we allow people to smoke around other non smokers, they (the non smokers) will become addicted, thus we have more smokers to help fund SCHIP."
So everyone let's be as American as we possiblly can be and light up a nice stogie for the children. Because it's all about our children.

It's a fact that smoking a cigar relieves a lot of tension and stress.
