I've lit some PAMs pretty fast before and never harmed
the taste much. They were a tad bitter for a puff or two

possible to ruin any cigar this way.

Especially with premiums like PAMs, I normally toast
the foot with indirect flame for a minute or two until the
entire foot is lit evenly. I love the roasted-nut scent it
creates and the anticipation.
Did you try purging the cigar after the light? If I get any bitterness after lighting I always purge.
