The thing that really burns me a new one with this whole thing is the anti-smoking group is taking a privilege (the privilege to eat out at a restaurant) and making it a "right". It's all about power and control. If we would just do what they tell us we would be healthy, safe and happy. THEY know what's best and we need to listen. The problem is: we don't have the numbers to fight these idiotic rules and regs. The majority goes along because mostly these things don't affect them or the argument makes sense to them. Little by little our lives are getting more and more restricted and our freedoms taken away, all in the name of keeping us safe and under control. Euro socialism here we come!

So, does anything stop a restaurant from becoming a "private club" and charging a penny for a lifetime membership?

Please don't tell me Virgina's Gov. is against helping the children! After the new administration deemed that smokers will support the children's health program. By limiting where we can smoke tells he is not concerned about the welfare the children in his state or have I missed something?

In all seriousness,,,this kind of thing is a great idea. It is going to take steps like this for these yoyo's to take us serious. I would hope that Puff admins will at some point start taking this more seriously and start a state by state cigar retaliation where brothers from nearby and neighboring states come and protest each state capital,,,talk about a great herf and getting something worthwhile going.

This is the amusing part of the argument by the anti-tobacco bunch. They claim that their proposed taxes will fund all these great programs, then they go out of their way to drive down sales. Their whole approach is contradictory.

We have had a smoking ban in Arkansas for a few years now. Now we are going to have a state tobacco tax to fund a trauma center and the city of Little Rock is proposing a ban on smoking in city parks and golf courses. Is the the "change we can believe in" we were promised??
