Thumbs up Java by Drew Estate

I bought a Java Robusto last week, and after letting it rest for a few days, it was a very enjoyable smoke! It seems really obvious to say, but it went well with a sweet, dark cup of coffee. Very smooth draw, even burn, but a little dark for my taste. All in all though, I'd encourage you to try it!

I've had a few Javas in my day, but these days I only go after the most full-bodied. If they made an Espresso version, I would definitely go for it!

CI and Famous I believe are owned by the same entity. Not 100% sure though.

I like to check both for prices as one is sometimes much cheaper than the other. And their SALES/FREEBIES are each a bit different.

I tend to use Famous as they are the one I started with years ago.

Re: Java by Drew Estate

The majority of my business goes to Famous because of their 5 Pack Frenzy, Create a Sampler and other discounts associated with their store credit card, which is actually accepted at a number of none cigar company's.

CI has the better deal on single 5 Packs, but the selection is extremely limited.

CI owns CBid and Famous owns CigarAuctioneer.

CI and Famous are seperately owned companies..

Unless CI likes suing themselves..

Re: Java by Drew Estate

I picked up 2 of the Java Latte's and smoked the first one after letting it sit for a couple months, and I can say that I don't care for them at all!!!!

So, now I have 1 more that will be sitting in my humidor until someone wants to smoke it.

I usually stay away from the flavored cigars but when I tried this I was hooked. It is a nice change.

Re: Java by Drew Estate

Not to be uncool at all, but help me understand how you like that syrupy sweet cap? I agree there is a nice quality to the Java, but I have tried two and within an inch they made me want to vomit because of that syrupy sweet infused flavor. Even my girlfriend found the sweetness really off-putting. I wanted to like this cigar as a change of pace, but all I could think about was how much poison must be on that stick to get that sugary, fake-coffee essence. However, I am glad you liked it - shows how different tastes really are, but in all honesty I find flavored cigars sickening. But what that really means is more for you at lower prices - so I can go fuk myself I suppose.

Re: Java by Drew Estate

These were okay for me - a little mild for my taste and the fake sweetness of the wrapper is not a plus. I smoked one with egg nog during the holidays and that was a really nice pairing.

The flavor to me is subtle. I've not yet been disgusted by them.

Re: Java by Drew Estate

A few months back, I bought some Java and was really looking forward to them, for I love to smoke in the morning with my coffee. However, all of them had severe burn problems; I won't smoke a cigar that doesn't burn right, I don't care what it tastes like. However, these cigars may have been over humidified, and I didn't dry box them. So I may give them another go. Normally, I do not like flavored cigars, but I'm an obsessed coffee drinker, so I thought that Java might be a good fit. Perhaps next time . . .
