Pre SCHIP yard smokes
With the new tax coming up in April I'm trying to stock up on sticks. It seems that the ones that will go up most percentage-wise are the cheapie yard gars. My budget is also strained a bit. I do most of my net buys with CI. Can I get some advice on some of the cheap twofer bundles or anything else inexpensive that will do it for me. I like med-full smokes but I suppose a mild one now and then will be ok too.

Re: Pre SCHIP yard smokes
Check out Flor de Oliva. 25 cigars for around $38 to $42 bucks on all
sizes and they have a variety of blends / wrappers, And they're Oliva's! They ain't Serie G's or O's but the do have some bang for the buck. JB |

Re: Pre SCHIP yard smokes
I will say, even though they are really cheap I like them.
The Rosa Cuba and the Trinidad y Cia bundles. I remember when they were each around 10 dollars a bundle for most sizes, now both are almost double what the used to be 2 years ago and with the new tax.....getting angry, I am going to stop typing now Last edited by JP_26; 03-06-2009 at 01:55 AM.. Reason: Trinidad with a d not a y haha. |

Re: Pre SCHIP yard smokes
I prefer Quorum topedos, Cusano CC torpedo, and if you shop CI try the Don Rafael's bought the twofer a while back and was impressed with the cigar, kinda mild with good even burn, light draw and ashes great...The flavor was good for a cheapo, stays consistant with little change, kinda hits of nuts and earth...My current favorite is the Cusano CC torpedo, excellent burn, great ash and easy draw, flavor starts kinda mild then finishes a bit spicey(my pallet sucks so don't quote me on that)

The Rocky Patel X-Outs can usually be had for around $2.00/stick, and they taste exactly like the "real" RPs. My favorites are the "Liga B," which is the Sungrown.

Re: Pre SCHIP yard smokes
Flor de Olivas are always good. And the Maduro or Corojo La Vieja Habano from Drew Estates. I like a mild to med Corona with coffee so buy; Bacccarat, or Bacarat bundles from Famous, Sancho Panza Fuerte's by the box or La Aurora Principes.
The La Auroras are sixty cents a pop, little coronas, each in an individual sealed sleeve. They ARE machine mades, short filler but very tasty for sixty cents. Famous has them, 25 to a box for $14.99. Also check out CFO the Reserrva #7's. phpCart(tm) by WEBMASTERS.COM FN in MT |

Re: Pre SCHIP yard smokes
Ybor City Handmades at King Corona Cigars in Tampa are excellent mild cigars. They come in boxes of 25 in three sizes: Churchill ($63) Rothchild ($59) and Torpedo ($67). One of the best house brands I've had: King Corona Cigars

Re: Pre SCHIP yard smokes
I have bought some La Aurora Seconds from Cbid, and really like them a lot. Another good one no one has mentioned is the Perdomo Fresco - those are pretty cheap also.
