Re: La Carolina Cigars ?

Sorry, I haven't tried these.

I just bought a box of Don Kiki Brown Labels on sale from Cuban Crafters, and a bundle of Tio Pepe churchills.
I've never tried the cigars, but they got good reviews and the price was right.

Re: La Carolina Cigars ?

I tried one about a year ago that I received one in a PIF. The note I made was that it was a nice little smoke (I had the Torpito 4.5 x 54) and that wouldn't mind trying more. Unfortunately, I made no comments about the flavor profile, sorry.

Re: La Carolina Cigars ?

This blend used to be under the Cupido label from Cuban Crafters. I was particularly fond of the Cupido Criollo (which I've noted is back...haven't tried em yet). Anyhow, back to the Cupido, I wasn't crazy about the original Cupido because every time I smoked one my sinuses got stuffed up, but it was a well thought of medium bodied cigar.

You might want to look up some reviews of the Cupido.

Hope this helps.

Re: La Carolina Cigars ?

I really enjoy the La Carolinas.

They have a sweetness (which supposedly is natural)--and mellows out with age.

The Campagnas are probably the best, but all of them are good solid smokes.

If you do a search here you should be able to find some older reviews.

The Cupido is bolder and stronger, without the sweetness--also a great smoke imho.

Re: La Carolina Cigars ?

I smoked a single La Carolina cigar that I received in a Cuban Crafters sampler. I didn't take any specific notes but I do remember that it was a pleasant smoke and that I enjoyed it. I have enjoyed several of the Cuban Crafters cigars with my favorites being the JL Salazar and the Cabinet Selection lines. Also, as for a budget stick, I smoked a few of the Don Kiki red labels and thought they were pretty solid for a daily smoke. At the time, you could get a bundle of those for around $30.

Re: La Carolina Cigars ?

Funny I just commented on these in another thread. I bought a box of the Capitan size and was completely shocked at how much better than expected they actually were. The flavor profile changes quite often and helps keep my attention. The "sweetness" that they refer to in thier add isn't a sugar dunked tip sweetness, but more of a slight aftertaste on the lips sweetness that completely taste natural. I'm enjoying them and plan to keep a few on hand to see how well they fair after a few months rest.
