Gurkha Class Regent Nepalese Warrior. I will admit, the square construction had a weird feeling in the mouth. Just didn't feel natural. Like putting shoes on the wrong foot. I will say however, this is one fine cigar. Like all Gurkhas..Do they make a bad smoke?

Re: Smoked my first square cigar last night

A nice thing about square contruction is they don't roll away, or roll around on the lip of the ashtry
I've had only a Ghurka Legend, and it was magnificant. Didn't think it was possible for them to create siomething poor ...

Re: Smoked my first square cigar last night

It's definitely a different feel. But I lov'em just the same. Some of the boxed pressed I've had are:

Gurkha Class Regent
Rocky Patel '92
Torano '59(if remember right)

If you like a full-bodied......
La Flor Dominica Box Press, I personally haven't had one, but I have read/heard that they are good !!

I like the Gurkha's too, and I have not had a bad one yet. But I have not tried them all.

And box pressed is different. But well smoke some more of them and you will get used to them

Try the box cut Onyx maduro. It is one of my regulars. The taste is fine, burns nice and doesn't roll away from me on the boat! Kind of like the carpenter's pencil of cigars!

I almost prefer box pressed stogies, Lord help me.

Padron 64's and 26's being my favorite.

Re: Smoked my first square cigar last night

Padrons are good.

I will smoke them now and then. I just do not like the box pressed cigars that much.

Keep them round, I say.
