Question about Las Vegas...

Where is it okay to enjoy a cigar in Vegas now? Beside Casa Torano and dedicated cigar bars/shops, where in the casinos can you now smoke a cigar without too much issue?

We may be staying at either NY-NY or Mandalay Bay, so just curious for those out there who have been recently.

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

When I was there last summer, you could basicaly only smoke outside, or in the gambling areas, or in cigar bars/shops. The casinos are pretty much all non-smoking except for the casino pits. I did not note if the buffets has smoking areas tho.

I'm sure most people will tell you to visit Casa Fuente in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Definately worth the trip to go.

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

Yes, you should most definately stop by Casa Fuente in the Forum Shops..that place rules. The drinks are ridiculously priced, but where else can you get a Casa Fuente? What the wife and I did last time was get a large pot of french press coffee with our cigars...it was actually pretty cheap and really tasty.

Otherwise, I believe technically speaking you can only smoke on the casino floors and in cigar shops...you should read this article on Cigar Afficianado for some helpful info about the Vegas Ban

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

Hmm....I was in Vego in November and never had a problem.....

I smoked a cigar at the machines and also at the center bar on the floor of the Palazzo and then walked while smoking from the casino to the cab line, although I got a nasty glare while in line so I stepped aside and made mrsreindeer wait in my place.

I've heard great things about Casa Fuente and was lucky enough to be bombed (although I'm not sure that being a target is a good thing... ) a Casa Fuente by d_day and I can't wait to try it.

I've also heard good things about this lounge off the strip:

Las Vegas Cigar Lounge: 5825 W. Sahara Ave. (in the Burlington Coat Factory center)

Have fun!

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

Casa Fuente....jeez I did not mean Casa Torano...not enough coffee when I posted this. Thanks for the input. I would love to sit in the Sports Book area and have one, but not sure if that is a no-no now either.

Guess there is one way to find out!

Thanks guys...

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

The Palazzo as already mentioned was a disappointment. I found it odd that Davidoff had a store right next to this imaginary smoke-free zone in the aisles.

One of the bars at Mandalay Bay is non-smoking (and poorly marked as such) and I had to step back out after I was immediately scorned by the patrons. Oh well their loss. So I went to another bar, a wide-open area with plenty of seats, TVs, and the worst cocktail service I've ever had. So I got to smoke but my mouth was really dry.

I personally always stay at Caesar's palace. And I've had good luck at the bars in Paris as well.

Have a good trip!

I was in Vegas in October and smoked in the Casino's and in the Sportsbook. Whenever I left the Casino for any reason, I used a Cigar Save It:

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

my favorite when i go is the Chicag Brew Pub in the 4 Queens downtown....nice little room tucked up in the corner...taps from the brewery come right out of the wall...decent little selection of sticks but I always bring my own...great filet mignon sliders and the two video poker screens at the far and of the bar have not failed me yet...probably 10 4 of a kinds in 5 trips

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

Be sure to pack some sticks to take with you if you can. Cigars are way over priced in Vegas. Of all the shops inside casinos, the best prices I found were at the Davidoff store at the MGM Grand. They were lower than even at the other Davidoff stores and had some decent sticks.

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

I love these things,,,they are convenient and so useful. When I go to Vegas I pick the best casinos to smoke my cigars in,,,love playing Keno and will take my cigars in there and have a nice few hours of winning money and smoking my favorites and drinking their liquor on the house.

Re: Question about Las Vegas...

I, too was recently in Vegas and had no problems smoking anywhere. You cannot smoke in the hallways of the hotels, but that is not a problem for me. I smoked on the gaming floor, in the sports book, and in every casino bar. I think most of the no smoking signs are really just for compliance. I have not run into any place that actually enforced the ban.

Have fun.
