Hello! And a couple interesting questions
Hey guys! Im new. I did a search and I dont think these questions have been discussed before but if they have please go easy on me and dont hate me forever. haha
I thought It would be interesting to discuss 1. Whats the most expensive cigar you have purchased? And was it worth it? 2. Roughly on average what do you think you spend on a cigar or box or cigars? Whatever is easier for you to answer. I will give my answer if this thread is actual legit and has not been done. |

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
Greetings and welcome to Puff.
To answer your question the most expensive cigar I had was a $16 Padron 64. It was worth every penny. As far as buying boxes I have not ventured into buying large quantities because I like to explore all the different types of cigars out there. I will buy a fiver from the devil site (cigarbid.com) and that will run anywhere from $15 up to $27 depending on the quality. Anyways welcome and keep asking questions, its the only way to learn. ![]()

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
The most expensive cigar I have bought was a Casa Fuente cigar I got when I was in Vegas during the week of Christmas. Probably around 22-26 bucks, I can't remember. But it was totally worth it, Excellent cigar, and I got to smoke it with my girlfriend and my family around so that just made it 10 times better.
I can't honestly answer how much I spend on average....but if I buy from the local shop I could spend anywhere from $5-$20 easily. And if I buy online, I can get 5 times the amount of cigars for the same price or even less! But since the schip things going into effect soon, its brought me to buy quite a few more cigars lately. Hopefully it will make me buy my first box! I haven't boughten a box yet and I would like to do so soon. I just don't know what to buy! I like to many different cigars! Which necessarily isn't a bad thing ![]() |

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
Get this. The most I have spent on a single stick was $28 on a probably fake Cohiba while on vacation in the Dominican. At the time I knew nothing about cigars. I was 16 years old and reaallly uneducated so it was definitely not the best $30 I have spent. From what I remember was that it had a very light maybe claro wrapper. I would call it a toro if memory serves. #1 it was a waste because I did not even know how to smoke it and #2 it was so effin plugged it was like trying to draw smoke from a tree stump. The funny thing was I thought it was supposed to be like that. I had no idea since the only cigars I had smoked until then were cheap filter cigars like Colts or Prime Times.
Now I spend about $6-$15 dollors on a stick. |

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
The most expensive cigar I've ever bought was just recently a Cohiba Red Dot at about $20. It was my first medium-bodied cigar and it was worth my money. I'm new to cigars as well, so I've only bought single sticks so I can build up a palate and I know what I want to spend my money on if I want a box.

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
Welcome to Puff! Most expensive for me was $30 for a Pardon 80th. Was it worth it? Just because of why I bought and smoked it (night I got engaged). But I wouldn't spend that much just to buy a cigar and smoke it. When buying singles I like to stay between $5 and $10, but if buying a box I try not to go over $140 or so. And by the way don't be scared to ask anything, we won't bite your head off!

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
I also bought a Padron 80th for 30 and it was well worth it.
To answer your ? about boxes, IMO box prices all depend on what you're looking for, but can be devided into 4 categories. 1) Boxes that are great and conveniently priced. (Padron x000) 2) VERY expensive ones that are well worth it (Padron 64/26 or Anejo/opus) 3) VERY expensive that aren't worth it 4) Cheap ones that aren't worth it and make you wish you woulda spent the extra $$ for something good. |

I couldnt figure it out either when I was new, but unlike you I didnt have the balls to ask, I just figured it out. But to answer your question They call it the devil site because the deals are so tempting and it ends up costing people A LOT of money, even though they're getting good deals on individual purchases. Check it out, alotta good prices. |

1) 15 years or so ago I bought a $5 stogie. Cost so much I couldn't enjoy it. That was the last time I bought a single.... either on line or at a B&M. Spending a bunch of money on a cigar is not worth it to me. 2) I'm sure I average under $40/box of 25. Lots of good sticks out there around that price. A few not so good too. |

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
Welcome!
1. Whats the most expensive cigar you have purchased? And was it worth it? Davidoff Anniversario No. 1. Yes, it was worth it! 2. Roughly on average what do you think you spend on a cigar or box or cigars? I'd say my average price per stick is between $8.00 and $10.00

Re: Hello! And a couple interesting questions
I think the most expensive cigar I ever purchased was an Anejo Shark for $14 bucks....it was VERY worth it. I think there may have been a couple of times where I might have spent more than that, I just can't remember any others(which says something about how good they were haha).
