Ahhh, the tamron explains all. The only thing I've got that fast is a cheap 50mm Cannon lens. I almost always forget about it because there's no zoom. I really do need to pick up a faster zoom. I mean, I can take pics like that with a slower lens and a tripod, but that's just too much work.
