Perdomo Problemo?

So, yesterday I finally smoked my Perdomo 10th Anniversary Criollo, and I have previously smoked a Habano Corojo. Both were in a toro-esque size, and both were rolled so tight, I just could not get a good draw off them. I might as well have been sucking on a piece of dried wood, or smoking the money I spent on them.

What gives? Did I just get a raw deal, or do other people have this same problem? Do some people like this sort of smoke?

Re: Perdomo Problemo?

I hope that was just a bad stick. I got 10 10th Ani's from cbid resting in the humi right now. Never had any problems with the Habanos though. Are you going to try them again?

Re: Perdomo Problemo?

I smoked a 10th Anni Criollo last Friday and it was superb. Great draw and burn, nubbed it and may get a box. Sorry about your experience, but I swear I'd give it another try. They are really good.

I'm not the OP, but I've run at 65% for many months now and still find a number of cigars that are rolled way too tight or packed with way too much tobacco.

Cigars are rolled by people, there are always screwups. When I buy cigars in person I always at least look at the foot to see if it looks overly jammed with tobacco. Then I do the pinch test. And even with all that there's still a few that manage to be too tight, or plugged.

In all honestly, I haven't had any more tight cigars at 70% than I've had at 65%. Just my own personal experience.

Re: Perdomo Problemo?

if it is the roll from the manufacturer, then there isn't a lot you can do.

I use to keep my humidor at 70% and had a lot harder pulls from smokes then when I went down to 65%. Was just throwing that out there. Looks like the OP keeps his a 65% already, so there goes that Idea!!!

Re: Perdomo Problemo?

Yeah, my inclination with the first one was that I just got a dud. It just seemed odd to me that two different lines of cigars would have the same problem, though, which is why I posted. They were purchased at the same store, but I can't really see how that would affect things a month later. I even tried routing out the bottom of the second one with a toothpick (all I could find).
