Question about tubos-

Should the sticks be kept in the tubes or should I take them out when I put them in my humidor?

Re: Tubos

There are a couple lines of thought on this. Some say the tubes were sealed because the manufacturer intended the cigar to be smoked in a particular condition with a certain rh, etc. So those people say keep them in the tubes with the cap on (assuming they haven't ever been opened). I say I like them to smoke at the rh I like, so I take the caps off the tubes and put them in the humi that way. I don't think there is a right answer though.

Re: Tubos

IMO the tubes are only good if you're throwing them in your pocket or brief case...I'll take mine out when I put them to rest, then if I need to take one on a trip I'll put it back in the tube...my $.02

It won't dry out. Tubos aren't airtight, so they'll adjust to your humidor's RH either way. Keep them in the tube for aging, as it minimizes airflow and looks really cool.

It's really about what you prefer. . . Kinda like Cello, you could make arguments for on or off but at the end of the day, it's your cigar and your humi so do what your gut tells you to.
