No Sweet Cigar Tonight!

Thats right, me Mr. Sweet_Cigars will be smoking a CAO Italia Novella for the first time tonight. The CAO Cx2 is one of my favorites and the CAO Brazillia was down right awful in my opinion. I hope the Italia is a better experience.

The Italia is Fenominal IMO, there's mixed reviews but i think they're great.

I gotta ask you since you're MISTER sweet cigars, Have you ever had an Arganese ML3? Just had one about 5 minutes ago and I loved it, very sweet with a Tea flavor and chocolatey hints, i gave it a 91.

No I have not tried a Arganese ML3 but I sure am glad you told me about it. I am putting it on my to do list. I have been trying to find some other cigars that are on the sweet side outside of the Drew Estate family but I have had no luck. IMO the Drew Estate cigars are the only flavored/infused cigars that do not taste artificial or like cheap tobacco.

Go with the Padilla 1932! Far better than a Brazillia.

Tried CAO Flavours? They are my failsafe product for getting my friends off flavored into premiums.. or just into cigars, period. And the flavors are very unique and tasty, not to mention the cigars themvery high quality. My best friend finally started to buy a lot of regular cigars, but recently ordered the CSO Flavours in Robusto and a box of the now discontinued Karmasutra Splash in tubes.

Although I haven't done a search on it, I haven't read any mention of the ML3 in my lurking. I think it's a great cigar. I had one last week and another is sittin' round here. "Great-blissful" is what I wrote on the label.

Re: No Sweet Cigar Tonight!

You know Blissful is a great adjective for it, It was just so pleasant from light to the nub.

What really surprised me was that after smoking, i looked online and found that it has a Brazilian Wrapper and Corojo fillers. I'm surprised that this combination would make for such a light sweet smoke.

I see that now on the Arganese website. I read it before but it went right over my head. These bits I'll definitely think of when smoking the next one. Thanks.

I don't get how this whole flavor cigar = non-manly cliche. Isn't just this forums that does it either. Its a matter of taste.

Personally, I enjoy some cigars where they dip the tip in some sweetener, just to give your lips a little sweetness when you lick them. I don't mind a little flavor added to the tobacco to give it a little kick or variety (stuff like hints of mocha, coffee, espresso, vanilla, etc) as long as they are subtle and don't over power the cigar. Cigars like Phillie's flavor their wrap tips but they also soak their tobacco in artificial flavoring (strawberry, banana, mango, etc.) which results in it being horrible and you can hardly taste the quality of the tobacco (that's probably why they do it though! hehe).

I enjoy Drew Estate cigars where they add a subtle notes of different flavors and it doesn't overpower the tobacco. I don't really see how that's non-manly or whatever. Some people just enjoy a little variety. Nothing wrong with that.

Anyways back on to the thread creators post. I enjoyed the Italia and I really enjoy the Brazilia. Me and my buddies smoked a Brazilia we got from my buddies uncle when we were like 17. Was really strong for such unexperienced smokers haha. I still enjoy them today though. Haven't tried the Cx2, heard some good things from it. Then again I've never heard to much bad stuff from people who smoke a CAO.

Try any of the CAO flavors? Eileens Dream is great, I enjoy the cigarillo's for these. I don't really smoke to many cigars that are flavored in a large form, except Drew Estate Dirt Torpedo.

Re: No Sweet Cigar Tonight!

Well lets start with the CAO flavors. I tried the Bella Vanilla and it was a bad experience for me. It tasted like it had cheap tobacco which is hard to believe being as it's a CAO. Even my wife thought is was bad and all she will smoke is ones with a sweet tip.

Now on to my changing taste buds. It seems over the past couple of weeks all my favorite sweet cigars have been tasting a little to sweet and a little to mild. I guess mabye I am starting to develope into the non-flavored cigars. With that said the CAO Italia has to be the best cigar I have ever had. It was so good I could not stop talking about it and I already convienced my wife that I need to order a case before the SCHIP takes affect. I plan on getting a sample of some sort so that I may find some other good non-flavored cigars as well.

By the way I did try the CAO Brazilla and really did not like it but now that my taste is evolving I may try another one just to make sure. I do plan to keep smoking my flavor/infused cigars but I am going to be throwing in some non-flavored ones more often. LIKE THE CAO ITALIA!!!

Try something with a Sumatra wrapper on it, to me they always bring a little sweetness to the cigar.

Re: No Sweet Cigar Tonight!

I really want to try the CAO america. I heard they are great. They are expensiver than the Italia and the Brazilia for some reason. Italia's are like 25$ more on CI than the Brazilia. And the America is 25$ more than that!

I wana try the Landmark (6.0" x 60) for CAO America.

I had a CAO America Bottle Rocket about two or three weeks ago, and I have to say that after having the Brazilia and the Italia, I was let down. It was a great cigar, yes, but it wasn't worth paying that extra amount for. It was a barberpole style cigar, which I like, but the flavors were kind of subdued, at least more subdued than I had been expecting.
