He said he'd talk to Pepin about it....that Pepin is fanatical about the workmanship of his rollers. I buy all sorts of his sticks and these are the only ones I've had problems with.

I didn't want to mention this before, but few months ago I noticed a box of Artisans at a B&M, and about 3-4 cigars had wrapper tears. I'm talking wrapper was coming completely undone. I thought it might have been due to customers' mishandling. Then, two weeks ago, I saw the same problem at another B&M. Something to keep in mind, seems like the wrapper is very fragile.

As for uneven burn, I think I saw in a Cigar Aficionado website video where Pete Johnson said he couldn't care less with uneven burn, as long as it tastes good.

Re: Tat Havana VI

well i loved the taste of them.. I bought a few Havana VI singles and loved them thats why I loved the box but I feel like I wasted good money on that box, so I doubt I'll ever buy any more Tatuaje's ever again.. Good construction is a must for me, Im just anal like that. Too many other good cigars in their price range that are consistent

Re: Tat Havana VI

uneven burn isn't a large issue with me, but canoeing is. If it gets bad enough that I have to put a torch to it to correct it, I have a problem with it. Uneven burn doesn't cause enough flavor change to me to notice but a canoe changes the overal flavor of a stick since it's not burning all the filler at the same rate.

I had quite a few 601 Habano Robustos do this recently too.

Also, you don't have to give up on them completely... I usually don't have burn issues with the P series or the Ambos.

Re: Tat Havana VI

I really enjoy Tats as well, for me the flavor is always there but the construction factor is hit or miss. They can be very finicky with their wrapper.

Re: Tat Havana VI

Thanks for all the responses. I had another VI last night and I found it to be very good. Although it did burn a little uneven, the flavor was great. Ill definately try another.

Re: Tat Havana VI

I would like to try a few, but none of my local B&M's ever has them, at least not when I'm there. Maybe they just sell out before I get there.

Re: Tat Havana VI

I'm glad some others feel the same way I do! I've always wanted to and tried really hard to like Tats, but I just can't. I've had 2 Browns and 1 Red, all from different places, and they've all had terrible construction problems (i.e., wrapper came completely off of the cigar) and the last 1/3 tasted absolutely terrible.

To be fair, I did love the first inch of each of these cigars, but the delicate wrapper and the bad ending taste just make these too difficult to spend the money on.

It really is sad because, as I said, I truly wanted to love these cigars.

I'm on my 2nd box of Tatuaje Havana VI Angeles. Out of the two boxes, only one stick should have been rejected due to a sloppy wrapping job.
