Red face Oh wow ebay...

eBay Item

Was checking out some cigar related auctions on ebay, came across the item above. It shocked me. There actually is a way to get around the restriction to selling tobacco products on ebay. I thought it was pretty funny.

Quote:
All bands are LEGAL in the US. These items are impossible to buy in any retail setting and are considered invaluable to collectors.

While the band has not been removed from the cigar they are not for consumption.
HAHA. "the bands have not been removed from the cigar". So basically your bidding on a full box of cigars. And they expect you to buy it for the bands, and to just discard the cigars. Cause thats sure as hell what I would do! "bye bye 42 Opus X cigars, into the trash you go".

On a different note. They had some cool Opus X humidor boxes that they come in. Some for like 20 bucks. Cool for a little 20-30 cigar humidor. Looks nice I might get one. I'll just pretend it was full at one time and I smoked them all.

Re: Oh wow ebay...

My favorite is the part about

THEY ARE NOT FOR CONSUMPTION

lol

What if I sold a crack pipe loaded with crack and I used the same metaphor?

You are buying this lovely pipe. The crack is NOT for consumption.

Would that work?

*brain is whirring*

Re: Oh wow ebay...

Ive seen several sellers do that on Ebay. They have a rule you cannot sell tabacco products. But there is nothing saying you cant sell bands for collecting purposes with the cigars attatched. Stupid....yes. Im sure someday they will ban it. Ive bought beer on Ebay several times. I buy motorcycle rally cans/bottles.

sorry....shoulda read more carefully....you already know there is a rule and how to get around it

HAHA. I literally laughed out loud. Not often that happens. My grandma was looking at me. Just the thought of someone paying $700+ for a box of cigars then throwing them all away.

HAHA. Beer on ebay. Oh man... They got everything on ebay man. I love ebay.

I get these cool 10% off coupons from ebay all the time, cause I buy so much on there. My account has bought like $1,500.00+ worth of stuff over the past half year or so.

Got my new Playstation 3 160GB Drakes Fortune edition with an extra Controller for $375.00 when it would retail for $550.00.

~ The value of this auction is in the collectible bands and packaging not the tobacco. The tobacco is not for consumption. Please read the following guidelines.
Oh thank god they store their bands in 70/70. I would hate to add a staled band to my uber cool band collection.

Its just so stupid it makes you smile

Re: Oh wow ebay...

Some sellers have changed the bands to inferior cigars in the past. Since your only buying the band what complaint would you have.

Re: Oh wow ebay...

In fact you can even by Havana Club Rum on ebay for the collectable bottle. I some what understand how people could get through ebay with the bands. But, Cuban rum? Isn't the empty bottle itself illegal in the US?

Re: Oh wow ebay...

I remeber a while back, Ebay had a problem with people selling drugs in their auctions. People would use code words and what-not and put it in a pair of shoes or something.

Crazy stuff.

Padron 1926 40th Anniversary

Oh wow... I'm jealous. :"( That is my dream cigar ATM.

Yeah, ebay doesn't seem like the most reliable place for buying high quality cigars.
