Glad I don't smoke cigarettes

One of my employees bought a pack of cigarettes today w/o asking the price. The pack was over 7.00 bucks because of schip. I quit cigarettes when they went from .50c a pack to .80c a pack. I've got enough cigars to soften the blow for now.

$8.50 up by me and they are going to $10.00.

Definitely glad I smoke cigars. I quit the awful cigarette habit over 10 years ago.

Now, my girlfriend pays around $5 dollars for a pack of cigarettes. And she gives me the look when I buy a $5 dollar cigar...haha it doesn't make sense!

They're $4.60 here for Marlboro reds at the expensive places. $10? Lord have mercy...

It takes about 7 minutes to smoke a cigarette and you get no taste out of them,,,just the nicotine habit. Conversely, a cigar provides between 45 minutes to 2 hours for the same amount of money and you get great taste and you get to relax. A cigarette is something that you smoke in a hurry,,,there is no relaxing to it as it is a turn and burn experience. I've done both and cigars fill the bill in every way.

i still smoke both because there two totally different worlds. in fact some times when i finish a stick i light up a cigarette just like after you eat.

i normally roll my own cigs for less crap (chemicals etc) in my tobacco but bought a pack of camels yesterday at 6.83

the new $24+ per pound tax on RYO tobacco might put the nail in the coffin for me as far as cigs go

I don't smoke cigarettes, and haven't since 5th grade when I got caught smoking at school. My mother does. She recently bought a carton of Marlboro something-or-other at Walmart for $54. For that, she'll get 200 smokes at about 7 minutes each, or 1400 minutes = 23+/- hours of smoking "pleasure". For the same $54, I can have 20 or so decent cigars at about 1 1/4 each, for about 25 hours of actual pleasure. The price seems to be comparable, but cigars deliver much more pleasure/relaxation than cigarettes.

I never understood the point of cigarettes. Cheap tobacco, machine rolled, added chemicals and other garbage.

With cigars there's an art to it. I don't see that at all in cigarettes.

When I quit smoking cigarettes they were .50c a pack. When the price went to .80c a pack I said there's no way in hell i'll pay .80c per pack, I quit. I could buy a carton for what a pack goes for today. I think that was back in 1979-1980.

Evey time a cigarette smoker quits a child goes with out health care. (HaHa) I've done both and stop (10 years ago)cigarettes because I hated the crappy feeling in the morning.
