Online retailers & dry cigars
I just got off the phone with a major online retailer, after I smoked the first stick in a box of Perdomo Lot 23. It was dry and cracked and, by the end, not only had the wrapper come off, but the binder was off, as well. The lady said that they may not have had time to regain moisture at their warehouse, that their shipments regularly arrive dried out, due to holdups at U.S. Customs. She said some Customs delays could be as much as 8 weeks. She then proceeded to tell me that once they re-gain their moisture, they will be as good as know. After 13 years of smoking cigars, I don't buy that at all. Does anyone think that's true? Also, are any online retailers immune to such lengthy delays that dry out their inventory?
