They need a year of aging, but patience pays off! These become good cigars after a year. Great burn, draw. Sweet, spciy cameroon flavor, about medium stength and full body. Havn't had the maduro.

Re: Perdomo 2 "mistakes"

I'm pretty much done with "mistakes", "seconds" & "X-outs". After the Rocky Patel Vintage Seconds garbage I have no faith that the "seconds" market is what it's supposed to be anymore. Since they're sold as "seconds" you have no room to complain when they taste like $h|t.

Maybe when they first came out to hook you, but I think a lotta manufacturers have taken advantage of the rush to "first" quality "seconds" by using tobacco not aged long enough or just alternative tobacco that's cheaper for them but comes close.

Nope, no more seconds for me. Just MHO tho.

For the ton of RP crap I have still I'm letting it sit in it's own humidor for a year... just so I don't have to look at it

They arent really mistakes or seconds. They were originally supposed to be a box press cigar but got shipped to CI by mistake i guess. Everybody liked them so Perdomo started making them round instead of boxpressed and named them "Mistakes" ........just something I read.

Hey Slyder, I've smoked both the Cameroon and Maduros, and both are very good smokes. I prefer the maduros flavor, mostly because I enjoy the coffee/cocoa notes. I've smoked a bundle of each (recently got a new bundle of maduros) and haven't had any plugs or burn issues. Nice salt/pepper layered ash that holds on, no unravelling of wrappers, no tunneling. Maybe a minor touch up with the torch, but haven't we all smoked "premiums" that need touch ups? I'd say you can buy with confidence, but best to get them at the "buy it now" price in cbid, as the final bids usually exceed that.

Re: Perdomo 2 "mistakes"

Not a bad smoke...not a "premium" and a hell of alot better (in my own opinion..) than anything rocky puts out.

I agree that consitency is generally a little shaky in seconds & cheaper bundles in general. I love Famous Nic 2000's but I've had bundles that were not so great.
If you want to try a very good "second" the the Perdomo ESV Seconds from Cigar International are consistently very good:
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...m=CS-ESB&cat=3

I have smoked hundreds of these in the robusto size & they are great!
At less than $3.00 a pop ($40.00 for 15) they are a great deal.
CI's site joecigar.com sometimes has them for $10.00 less w/free shipping.

How do these stack up to the fresh rolled wheels? I heard the wheels were pretty good.
