Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

I have had my fill of Gurkha's.... Seems more marketing then good blends lately.

I have tried a ton, and my favorite is still the Nepalese Warriors. Lately the ones I have tried have done nothing for me at all. Pretty let down.

Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

I got my catalog today and when I saw them I thought "oy, not another blend!" Now, I've always loved Gurkhas but this is getting ridiculous! What next? A peanut butter and meth blend?

Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

yeah it is getting kinda crazy huh! You would think they would run out of ways to blend a cigar. Cant be too many more combinations they can use. Ive never smoked a Gurkha......ever. Looked at a few, smelled a few...passed on em. Im poor! I gotta stay below that $75 mark for my "top shelf" gars and below $45 for my "go to" stuff. Thats why when i saw the price i got a little excited. But im not buying anything till i hear some stories or i can find some 5 packs.

Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

They are probably CI exclusives like those Blue Steel ones I've been seeing at the devil site. With the quality control issues I've been experiencing, doubt either of these blends will ever see the inside of my humidor.

Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

I'm a relative noob to Gurkha, but I have to concur with what someone above said about quality control. I got a 12 pack of Gurkha Fuerte XO's and half of them burn like crap. The flavors are decent, but I'm just glad I got these for so cheap when CI was getting rid of extra Gurkha stock before SCHIP (at least thats what I assume due to the 40 dollar price tag rather than 150, lol)

Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

Yeah, the one gurkha I've had burned very unevenly, but it was so damn tasty I just put in a bid for 10 more.

Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

Jack, I started that way too, lol. I got one Fuerte XO and loved the mix of flavors, but after 12 I've started to get tired as hell of the uneven burn and relights.

Re: Gurkha Micro Batch Series

Yeah for me it is the Class Regent Nepalese Warrior. Fantastic flavor. I'm hoping after letting them rest naked in the cooler they will even out a bit.
