Re: Favorite gauge, lenght, shape!!!!!!!

After trying El Triunfador, I've really been digging Lanceros. Before that, I was generally partial to the corona gorda size.

Re: Favorite gauge, lenght, shape!!!!!!!

In a perfect world, I would like to smoke all sizes of the same type. Then stick to
the one I like best, but I seem to start off with Torpedo first.

Re: Favorite gauge, lenght, shape!!!!!!!

I have, and smoke, everything from minis in tins up to torpedoes and big fat Gurkha perfectos, and they all have their own merits. If I have to pick a single, perfect size, I think it would have to be the standard corona, 5.5x44. For me, it's the perfect compromise. I'm a slow smoker, so a Churchill takes me 2+ hours, and frankly, I start getting bored with them before they're done. I have a handful of them, but don't smoke them very often. Smaller sizes are usually done before I'm ready for them to be.

I do like the way torpedoes fit in my mouth, for lack of a better description. I like perfectos because they're so easy to light, and you get the torpedo end.

Can I get a perfecto/figurado, double-tapered shape in a corona size? I guess that would be my "fantasy" size. There are probably a couple of them out there, somewhere, but none leap to mind. Man, if I could get a Fuente Hemingway in that size, I would probably be delirious.

Lately, it's been Lonsdales(6.25 x 44)
I really have trouble enjoying anything over a 50.

Same here.

55+ x 6+
Torpedo

Find that torpedo's are easy to cut and get a nice draw.

Re: Favorite gauge, lenght, shape!!!!!!!

I prefer lonsdales and corona gordas overall (balancing smoking time, price, etc.), but for flavor alone, lanceros and petit coronas can be pretty spectacular.

OTOH I have plenty of 52 RG cigars in the humi as well, so I'm not really a purist. I have not yet fully enjoyed a 60 RG cigar, though. I think it must be hard to blend for a size that big.
