Don't give up on Cbid just yet. Remember that while the posters here are all lamenting the bad packaging, only one person actually got a partially damaged shipment. In my estimation it is worth the risk to get the good deals at cbid. I've never gotten a damaged cigar from them. Keep an open mind and give them a try.

Look im not saying dont use them. Im certainly not gonna stop using them because of some bad packaging. Im just saying I wish they would make the care for their product a little more important after the sale. It would save complaints to customer service and would make people alot happier about doing business with them. I know they are a good company and would replace or refund the damaged goods......but why does it have to come to that? This could be prevented at the shipping department. It just upsets me that a person can spends hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of dollars and they just toss em in a box thats 3 times the size and call it good! Not cool!

Re: another crappy Cbid shippment!

We should all look at a shipping map. Cbid is in Bath PA, which most people consider NY. Its two to three days ground ship to anywhere east of the Big River. Past that it ranges from 5-9.
I usually dont worry too much in cooler weather, but when it gets hot, temps in trailers can reach 130 degrees. I really dont want my sticks sitting in that environment w/o at least a water pillow. I change my shipping from weekly to daily around this time of year and only order when I know I will get them in two days, or less. Since Im in VA, most of mine are here next day. USPS always takes at least an extra day. I dont know why Cbid chooses to ship on Th; probably the worst day of the week.

I agree I do not think any of us would stop using them. They do have great customer service and we all love the bidding site, but the packaging has checked and less protection is being taken, which concerns us all.

If and when you get your next bundle and it isn't up to your expectations then you should gripe about it. If you don't like how they are being bundled or packed then let them know about it before the next shipment. One mans shipment of goods to another is open for speculation,,if you aren't happy with yours then by all means do something about it.

You are so going to love those Suntuosos. I bought 2 boxes and they are awesome.

Re: another crappy Cbid shippment!

Well, it just so happens that I won a box of Estaban Carrera Corojo Mini Belicosos a couple weeks ago. Then I got an email from cbid telling me they were out of the MB's and would I like something else. I asked what my options were and the lady emailed back saying they would substitute a box of double coronas, 7.5x52. Bigger cigars than I usually smoke but the EC smokes are going to be gone soon and the price was great so I said yes. A few days later the box arrived and since I have been reading this thread I gave the box a shake and sure enough the box of smokes was rattling around. Then I opened the box and there was the box of EC's with one deflated air pillow that looked like an old sandwhich baggie. I laughed out loud over that! But as usual, the cigars were fine, so no problem. I can't complain but it was funny to see the packaging after reading these posts here. All's well that ends well.

Re: another crappy Cbid shippment!

I've griped at them several times now and it never seems to do any good. They claim to note it in my order file and months on down the road when a wrapper peels on one what am I supposed to do? Oh gee i smoked 4 and they were fine but this one peel please refund? It really torqued me when I bought a couple boxes and they were both banging around with a 5 pack with ONE inflated pillow. $430 order? just f*ckin toss it in a box, hope you choke on it, Trajan.

I'd gladly pay more for shipping if they'd have a bit more respect for the product.

Re: another crappy Cbid shippment!

Man, there is a lot of bitching and complaining going on here over cigars that were received undamaged. You are buying smokes at 20-50% of online retail prices. If your cigars are damaged send an email and they will be replaced. Obviously the added cost of better packaging is not cost effective. Cbid ships out thousands of packages a week, by just tossing them in the closest box available they are saving money. They are the ones taking the risk of damaged sticks arriving and they have decided that the replacing damaged sticks is cheaper than increasing packaging costs. If you want good packaging pay more from a different vendor.

Dude thats a total load! If i purchase something....doesnt matter the price...its my property! Have some god damn respect and package it properly! Doesnt matter if its damaged or not when I recieve it. Packaging it properly wont cost them another 20 cents. When I send parts to a chromer and it comes back just tossed in a box I bitch....doesnt matter if its damaged or not.... ITS THE PRINCIPLE behind it. Me and many many many other people on this site are sick of people telling us we shouldnt complain about this. But we bitch to the company and they say...."Hmmmm well we will note that in your profile" so the next time we order they are sure to mess up your cigars!!

Sorry if it sounds like im pissed at you Bobarian....im not....im in a bad fricken mood today. I hate the world and the world hates me back. Im on a mission to destroy Matt Kenseth!! He wrecked my boy (Jeff Gordon). The race did end on a good note....Carl Edwards flipping!!

The race was great until the final lap. I had Edwards in my league and so much for that.

It would be nice if you could say which day you wanted your buy to be shipped on. Wednesday would be great for me since it takes 2 days to get to Columbus. I have a $300 shipment sitting in a warehouse somewhere in Columbus over the weekend....
