Re: Beverage Suggestions: Slightly Sweet...
Just recently, it's really nice in a Rum and Coke - the slight cherry taste is different from any others I've tried. For the price I'll definitely get some more for mixing!

Re: Beverage Suggestions: Slightly Sweet...
I like to drink Big Red with a good maduro. The sweetness in the soda just brings out the flavor in the cigar.
When I want alcoholic..I go with Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whisky |

Re: Beverage Suggestions: Slightly Sweet...
One I like from time to time with a maduro is a DiSaronno Amaretto on the rocks. You said slightly sweet, I would consider this sweet but it can cut through the thickest of maduros.

Re: Beverage Suggestions: Slightly Sweet...
I make and drink a lot of iced tea, but I'm from Texas where it comes right out of your momma's nipple, so we start on it early. I make it by the gallon and drink it by the quart. Saves a lot of trips to the kitchen, but not the bathroom. I usually make it flavored with herbal tea, mostly raspberry, but also Lemon Zinger, honey/chamomile, and lately mint. I do sweeten it, too, but not syrupy like so many southern folk tend to do. I put exactly seven packets of Sweet-N-Low in each gallon. I think it's one of the few things it's fit for. It does have a bit of an after-wang to it, but in coffee or tea, the bitterness is totally masked by the drink so all I get is the sweetness of it. Even as a teen, I didn't like sugar in my iced tea. I never liked the little pile of it in the bottom of the glass that never seems to dissolve, no matter how long you stir it.
BTW: Don't bother ordering iced tea in L.A. I don't think there's anyone in the whole damned town who knows how to make it, or what it's supposed to be like. Order a cup of hot tea and pour it in a glass of ice water. You'll be way ahead.
