Padron 1926, 1964 or 40th on a blind buy
Making the last purchase for a long while and I'm determined to make it one of these 3 smokes on a blind buy. I've never tried any of them, although I've run across few smokes that I can't appreciate when it's a quality, well reviewed smoke. Considering the 1926 #1, the 1964 Imperial or of course the 40th 1926.
Just looking for opinions, and any comparisons between the 3 smokes if anyone can throw that in. Thanks |

Re: Padron 1926, 1964 or 40th on a blind buy
If it was me I would go with the 1964. It is a great smoke and is cheaper than the 40th. The smoothness of the 1964 gives it an edge over the other two. Overall you can't go wrong with any of them but I would go with the 1964 if your going to take a break from buying.

Re: Padron 1926, 1964 or 40th on a blind buy
I'm getting the impression the 64 is milder in body compared to the 1926.
Originally I was thinking of trying to let them age for a couple more years depending on which year I purchased.... but in reality I can't see myself not going through them all within a year.... I'd be stretching to say 2 years. I've read the 26 has better aging potential.... Are the boxes marked with the production year? |

I love the Padron 1964 anni.
I always have a box of Maduro Principes' on hand. I like them all but that is my favorite |

My vote is for the '64. I've tried all of them and the '64 in my opinion is the bee's knees.
They are all great smokes though. In fact, I've yet to smoke a Padron that I don't like. ![]()

it's true, you cant go wrong with any padron, but of the three you gave, I'd go with the 64's, I just enjoyed my 64 more than a 26 for some reason.

Re: Padron 1926, 1964 or 40th on a blind buy
hmmm.... seems the 64 maddie is winning..
I was discussing them with a retailer just a few mins ago while talking about the Camacho 10th Torp.... told him I was thinking of a blind buy on the Padrons... so I ended up getting a box of the Camachos and he threw in a 64 Imperial maduro to try. So after the Cams, the Padrons WILL be the last box for a while. No longer gonna be a blind buy if I get the 64's.... Here's hoping I still think they're worth the cash AFTER burning one! *edit* I've only had a couple padrons years ago.. enjoyed them but didn't keep up with them. I'm hoping the 64,26 or 40th are different enough in taste to warrant the upcharge. Last edited by OracleSmoke; 04-22-2009 at 03:53 PM.. |

1926 40th Maduro is my most wanted cigar. It just looks so damn good!
I didn't realize how flat they are though. Just saw some down at my local B&M. $30.00 each. |

The best bang for the buck smoke is the 1964 Maduro, thats just my opinion but all of them are outstanding choices

Re: Padron 1926, 1964 or 40th on a blind buy
I personally like the 1926's best, the regular ones. I had a 1926 80th Anni and while it was good it wasn't as impressive to me as the standard 1926 or 1964 series.
I thought the main difference between the series is the length of time they age the leaves. At least that's what I gathered from reading some info on them. But there's probably more to it. Rev. |

The 40th is an awesome cigar, but it has a high price tag.

Re: Padron 1926, 1964 or 40th on a blind buy
As I recall from the regular padrons I had years ago... they seemed an easy draw, dark chocolate, no bite, medium at best.
I'm guessing no pepper or citrus in any Padron? According to the salesman I should be seeing the 64 by tomorrow and it was sent at smokeable RH... Do any of these smokes have similarities to the regular maddie padrons? |
