Re: The 140 Principle and Beetles
In the late spring I take my humidors down to the basement level and leave them there as it is a constant 65-70 degrees. I keep one humidor in my bedroom so I don't have to walk down 3 flights of stairs to get a cigar. Our basement is an above ground type but stays cool all summer.
The bottom deck is the basement part of the house and the deck above that is off the study. There are two other decks on the opposite side of the house so there is plenty of areas to enjoy my cigars.

Re: The 140 Principle and Beetles
I would have to say the practice may be considered, but to an extent.. I get nervous any time I'm over 75F... the idea that you are ok as long as they add up to 130 - 140 is just off, as someone pointed out, 100 degrees and 35% would not be a good environment.
We just had a few 90 degree days and like Gary immediately moved everything to the basement.. makes me wish I had a second wineador. |
