Funny, there is no such thing as an "accidental discharge" and there is no such thing as "accidentally" destroying a cigar collection. Both, require "operator error". Lesson learned.

There are reasons why I don't "coolidor". One being, there is no wood to take up the slack for my mistakes. Plastic is absolutely unforgiving. I know I am prone to screwing up, so I am real careful about keeping my beads at half mast and everything sits in a very forgiving, cedar-lined casket.
Oh yeah. If I didn't have the cedar boxes in there, it would have been much much worse. The only sticks that got destroyed were the ones in the boxes, since the boxes were soaking up all the moisture. All the sticks in the plastic bags survived fine.

damn, man. Anything you can salvage from this is a blessing. Those pics are sooo painful. I hope most of your stash was in plastic. My prayers are with ya.

Brother this is a sad day for you. Do you have any sticks you can smoke now?
If not, I think we need to do a full out assault and bomb the boy.

I have smokes, don't worry about me. I just hope my folly saves someone else's sticks from a gruesome watery grave.

Re: Water damage and MOLD (pics!)

You have my sincere condolences, my friend. I'd probably rather lose an unimportant finger than go through something like that. Thanks for the life lesson, I'm kind of accident prone myself, so I know it was bound to happen to me sooner or later.

Dude,

Get all that shit out of your house, do you want to contaminate your entire house with Mold Spores? Get that out before it spreads. I've seen horror shows with this stuff. It will spread and feed on wood and paper especially in the warmer weather (like now).

Tough not to continue repeating the same sentiment to you Bro.
Sorry for the loss man.
Its scaring the bejeezus out of the rest of us just seeing that.

Thanks for posting. Stuff like this does perk us all up a little and reminds us of what not to do. As another poster mentioned. I recently had my own little eureka moment when I found out I had to manually refill the Oasis once a month. Lessons learned.

You seem to be well on your way to mental recovery which is good.

+1 with all humility. All spores must be removed and eradicated.

The coolador needs a bleach treatment too. Or replacing...

With heavy hearts we must carry out this dreaded duty.

I am wearing black my brothers

My wife (before she was my wife) lost her condo to mold infestation from a leaky pipe in the common area, I've seen the havoc, please get the place eradicated. Just replace the cooler, for the price, it's not worth taking a chance.

Re: Water damage and MOLD (pics!)

I'm sure you won't repeat the same mistake twice, but just to be safe, get yourself a humidor with glass top and glass frontl. I picked up a basic 300+ ct model, lined with spanish cedar, online for $150 with shipping.

I can't remember the name of the vendor offhand, but it was well-worth the cost.
