Good Mold??

Ok I picked up a few stix today after not buying for quite a while....I have a large B&M here in town who has a really good selection for the most part. While I have seen a couple sticks with mold, its usually just an isolated few. Now its been 4-5 months in the new, bigger walk-in humidor and I would think they would have it figured out...nope..they has VSG Enchanments, VSG Illusione, Torono, and a couple others I can't remember right now with alot of mold. The VSGs were almost completely covered!!

I have brought mold to the attention a coupltimes and have always been treated with respect and gotten an apology for there being mold....not this time..I was told it was "Good Mold"...not plume but "Good Mold".....I was blown away!

So I looked really close to the stix I had picked out and got out of there quickly.

Now has any one else had "Good Mold"

Shawn

Re: Good Mold??

It works pretty well in penicillin as well.

That is a pretty ignorant statement for a cigar shop owner to make.

Re: Good Mold??

Only 2 things to remember on this subject as pertaining to cigars......

1.) fuzzy = mold = not good

and

2.) powdery = plume/bloom = very good

And that's about it.

Re: Good Mold??

VSG's plume easily.

Was it white and puffy?

Was it blue/green or teal in color and leaves a stain on the cigar after you wipe it off

Try to find them under 75% rh.
Does the B&M seem extra humid?

moldy moldy moldy
