tx_tuff = Thank you for the Ligero and Havana 2000 info. I am having trouble finding a retailer that carries that cigar! QUOTE] You talking about a retailer for the Illusione? Here you go Illusione Cigars from SeriousCigars.com they carry all the lines, and they are all pretty damn good.

Re: Need specific advice on Cigar Choices
It's been a month since my initial post and wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for the suggestions. I have them all saved in a MS Word doc and I have been working through them bit by bit...
While I have been keeping the journal, the scientific formula is pretty much out of the question due to so many variables. Determining the profile of a cigar soley based on the wrapper, binder, and fillers is a dice roll no matter how you cut it! There are aging factors, soil conditions, quality, etc., etc. I have some more of the suggested smokes coming in the mail today, so it continues onward!!! I will posts my results to the suggestions in a couple more months, but so far so good! I tried the RJ 1875 recently and that was actually pretty good smoke! I can truly say that all of you guys have given me better advice than the fellows who work at the local merchants in comparison! I have gotten some advice there, it's hit or miss, but here is a solid bunch of enthusiasts who really try help and I appreciate that!!! I have discovered that my objective was really a body vs strength issue! Getting a ton flavors such as leather, coffee, wood, cocoa without a harsh tounge lashing of pepper... There are full cigars that lack bite YIPPY ![]() The local merchant stongely urged a Casa Magna that he was out of, anyone try these? From the reviews I have seen online, they appear like they could be very harsh? |

Re: Need specific advice on Cigar Choices
Glad you are enjoying trying everything out. That always is the fun part in this hobby.
The Casa Magna is not a bad cigar IMO but it is also not a wow you cigar. It is worth trying but probably wouldn't go out of my way to get one. I think they may still be riding the hype of being CA's cigar of the year. It seems like the B&Ms are pushing them because they are still a hot ticket right now. |
