Re: Wrapper off to rest em?

Cello is good for short-term storage because you are always grabbing cigars out of the humidor to smoke them and the cello prevents damage. Because ashton has been getting so many damaged cigars back they are now using cello on the VSG line......as for long term storage (aging), please take the cello off!!!!!

If you're still stuck on what to do, sometimes I'll use scissors to cut the end of the cello off so that the foot of the stick is exposed, but the rest is still covered. This allows the stick to "breath" and still have its wrapper protected by the cello. HTH.

Pardon the error in nomenclature. I hate it when someone uses incorrect terminology in my field, so I understand. I'll beg off on this due to inexperience with gars .. I'm a pipe smoker ... and fairly new to even that.

No bro I didn't mean it like that! We are all new at one point or another, I can't tell you how much I have learned at cigar forums and cigar herfs I have had with all my friends I have meet from the forums. I was just trying to make a funny. By the way with everything I have learned about cigars, this seems to be the one question where there is never a majority of answers to one side or the other.

Ok, I'll bite on this one. I just tourched the celo from a Cx2 that I am smoking and it gave off white smoke and smelled like burning grass.
Before any of you jokers go off on that example, the grass in your yard that you mow. Well at least in my yard. lol
However, the cigar was from the last of a box that I got about 2 years ago.
I guess tomorrow I will be forced to smoke a newer cigar to test the celo theory. Sucks to be me.

No problem, someone else commented that the title was a "bit misleading" so I was responding to the whole thread really. Prolly shouldn't have quoted ya. I didn't take your comment as judgemental or anything.

BTW, nice car.

Smoked a Ahston ESG Saturday night, remembered this thread. So I this these to the celo and it sizzled and put off a white/light grey smoke. I also smelled during and after I put the flame to it, and as everybody knows what burning plastic smells like, this did not smell at all like burning plastic! Plan on trying some others.

Just a word of caution. Anyone else who tries this test; BE SURE to remove the cigar FIRST!

Good to know there's still some celo in use on better bands. I'd still remove it.
