New Humidor .... magnet came off humidifier

OK ... I just received my 5 vegas 100 gar humidifier from cigarbid.com two days ago.

I set it up ... and kept it closed for about 30 hours. When I opened it to check the humidity level .. it was only around 63%. Temp is 70%

When I pulled off the humidifying component in order to put more distilled water in ... the magnet came off (magnet stuck to the metal but came unglued from the plastic backing of the humidifier).

Naturally the words "cheap" went through my mind .. but I've already been told that these humidifiers are pretty decent, so I guess the adhesive that was used is the only part that was substandard.

So: two problems. 1. what do I use to "glue" the magnet back onto the humidifier. I assume it is a "rubber" magnet ... and the backing is some form of plastic or rubber. Normally I would just use rubber cement .. or something similar, but I don't want to put vapors inside my humidor and mess with the cigar aroma .. nor the cedar. I thought of using silicon .. as that can work as an adhesive if surface area is smooth .. but wanted to check with the wisdom of the board.

2nd problem is getting humidity up. I am going to bring home some Prop Glycol and add a bit to the "green" humidifying substance. If there are other suggestions for this problem as well, I'm all ears.

TIA,

KS

Same thing happened to me, on the plastic to magnet bond I used gorilla glue, and it is holding up well.
