Re: Getting back into it - Samples
Looks like a nice starting sample. There are some real nice smokes in there. In particular I like the Padron Anny, La Flor, and Aroma.
Prices are hard to gauge since the size in unknown on most of them, but seem average for a B&M. The Cuban pre-embargo is a Pinar. To me this cigar hasn't lived up to the hype and prices vary greatly. For the cost, you can get a real cuban. Where are you at in OH? I'm in the Cincy area, but there are fellow CS members from all over the state. Welcome and enjoy those smokes. |

I am in Columbus. I am not good at the nomenclature for describing the sizes...I will need to brush up on that...sorry. They are all between 5-6."
Do you mean a "real pre-embargo Cuban" vs a Pinar pre-embargo? Thanks. |

Re: Getting back into it - Samples
Well done, Janty. Sorry again to hear about your dried out smokes.
You've done reasonably well. Please let us know how those cigars worked for you and we'll be able to give you suggestions for next steps. The Pinar is one of two cigars claiming to contain "genuine-pre embargo Cuban tobacco." The Pinar 3000 is said to be 100% of this tobacco. A new brand, A/R Robaina (an obvious attempt to knock off the Habanos brand, Vegas Robaina) clamis to contain 40%. The story that is spun by Pinar in an attempt to make this seem even remotely feasible seems to get more elaborate with each passing year that this "strictly limited" resource is on the market. Personally I do not find them to be good values. The other cigar that is called "Genuine Counterfeit Cubans" and "Genuine Pre Embargo Counterfeit Cubans" are brands of JR Cigars. These make no bones about being non-Cuban knock-offs of Cuban cigars and are actually reasonably priced and decent smokes. Wilkey |

The web... The best prices in town are at Jungle Jims, but they don't have too many premium smokes. I'll occasionaly buy from Bel's and Tinderbox. |
