Re: Buzz?

When I first started smoking cigars and I started trying fuller heavier types there were a few that almost got me good. I never smoked cigarettes so did not really know what to expect. Even now if I am on an empty stomach I can start feeling a bit lightheaded with certain smokes.

If I start feeling this way I drink a glass of orange juice (sugar) and a few minutes later the feeling subsides.

Re: Buzz?

I find that sometimes I WANT a little buzz off my smokes
My go to for that would be a JDN Antano. If I catch a buzz that I DIDN'T want a small piece of chocolate (the sugar binds up some of the nic) takes care of it in about 30 seconds

Re: Buzz?

If you see me say "I got a buzz" "it had a kick or punch" then yes I am talking about nicotine buzz. But it is just a slight buzz. If you see me post "it kicked my a$$" then it was to much of a buzz LOL

Re: Buzz?

The first coupla times you get buzzed from anything you sometimes get sick. You can get a strong Nicotine buzz from chewing tobacco and cigarettes, but not so much cigars. A strong cigar puffed like a madman may give you a buzz equivalent to a cigarette though. Camacho's often make for good buzzes, especially the Corojo Ltd. line. Smoke a diploma and you'll find out what a cigar buzz is. You wanna get light headed but not to the point you feel sick.
Of course the more you smoke the more it takes to get buzzed.

Re: Buzz?

The only cigars that give me a buzz are Cubans...

Re: Buzz?

I enjoy getting a light buzz towards the end of my smoke. It makes me feel so calm and relaxed.

Re: Buzz?

As long as I have food in my stomach, I don't get that "sick" feeling from even a strong cigar. But I get a "buzz" sometimes--slightly light headed, maybe even a bit dizzy.

For example, a Padilla 1932 isn't very strong until the final 3rd, and then all of the sudden WHAMO--I'm usually almost staggering when I finally burn my lips and quit that stick, lol.

Re: Buzz?

Well to add to this conversation ill throw this in the picture.

I a brand new cigar smoker, just started last week. Now ive been on a no carb (no sugar) diet for a few months. Last weekend when i decided to start smoking cigars i went away for the weekend and got off the diet, eating all sorts off sugars and carbs like normal. I smoked 5 cigars over a 2 day span, including some stronger ones like a graycliff 1666 and CAO Brazilia with no issues whatsoever. Not bad for a first time puffer.

Foward to today, ive been back on the diet for 5 days and my body is rid off all carbs and sugars again. Today i sit down and have a mild conneticut (first smoke since last weekend) and i got this buzz. At first it was crazy nice. But by the end i was feeling lightheaded and sick to my stomach. Very unpleasant. I wah to go laydown for an hour or it may have meaned a trip to the porcelin bowl.

So, im thinking that the no carbs and no sugars in your system may really play into this a whole bunch. Science gurus, what say you to this?

Well I can tell you the last unpleasent buzz I had, I ate some candy and drink a DrPepper and about 30 minutes later I was fine.

Re: Buzz?

^^^ Im really thinking that it must have gotten to me because i had no sugars in my body. In all reality many things you eat all day have lots of sugars in it. And type of bread, snacks, even veggies and fruits have loads of carbs and sugars in them. Maybe my body having ZERO carbs or sugars in it is what killed me.

For comparision the normal person consumes 300-400 carbs a day. I usualy get about 10 carbs a day on this diet. I hope someone with some dietry knoledge can chime in on this one.
