Buzz?

Ok, so personally I know what a nicotine buzz is and they absolutely suck.

I keep hearing in cigar description's and from other members post that they got a good buzz from a certain cigar.

Is there a different type of "Buzz" other than a nicotine buzz?

If so how do I get one?

Re: Buzz?

I think there are different stages of "the buzz". It doesn't always lead to feeling sick and spewing all over the place. If I smoke a stogie fast, or have a big one, I can get a bit light headed sometimes. To me, that's enjoyable. When you turn green and have to go lay down though, that is not a good buzz!

Re: Buzz?

Depends on the cigar , if I smoke a big cigar (RP edge maduro) on an empty stomach, I walk around like too many drinks for a bit. Not all cigars do that. Food makes a big difference for me

Re: Buzz?

I like a light buzz which will relax me and make my legs feel like lead. The buzz where I get a headache sucks. I will take some Pepsi to drink if I am smoking multiples or a powerhouse.

Don't eat all day, then smoke something strong and large (toro, churchill, etc.) fast. You'll know what it feels like pretty quick.

Re: Buzz?

I typically smoke on an empty or almost empty stomach (not like I try to, it just happens that way), but don't really get sick. A sickening buzz is just an excess of nicotine, rather than a pleasant amount. I find beer helps keep it honest. If you smoke a lot of cigarettes, you probably won't really recognize the cigar buzz unless it hits you really hard, at least that's the way it is with people I know. I will really get flying if I have more than one cigar, which is fine if I'm by myself, but makes me self-conscious if I am with people.

Re: Buzz?

I usually get kinda clammy and nervous. Just feel kinda dizzy and usually have to hit the couch for a few hrs. Coke has been helping but only a couple lines.

Im joking.

Re: Buzz?

I smoked a Taboo Exotic Torpedo fast on an empty stomach, with a cup of coffee and the feeling I got was like a light alcohol buzz. The lght headedness subsided when I put down the smoke, however it returned when I picked it up about a half hour later. Overall it was pleasent, and not overpowering.

Re: Buzz?

Nicotine intake and tolerance are fairly easily identified and managed; if you have some experience with it and monitor yourself. Unlike ethanol, nicotine gives you plenty of notice when you're becoming over-saturated. The novice is easily deceived, since nicotine hits so many pleasure centers of the brain... it's easy to turn off self-monitoring and just roll with, "man, this feels freaky-good." Before you know it, youre hosed.

Signs to "look" for: Feel flushed, or mildly euphoric. Warm feeling. Uncharacteristically relaxed. Tingling in the face, lips, warmth on the outer ear (oracle). Eyelids drooping slightly. Head tilting backward slightly. Tingling in the lower jaw. Runny nose, or an uncharacteristic urge to sniff. Dry mouth (getting bad, now). Change in normal muscle tension.

As far as chasing nici' buzzes with sugar, it kinda works, in the short-term. Nicotine is a diuretic and so, dehydrates and drops your blood sugar. Smoke also dehydrates you. Add these two together and you have a hungry, dehydrated, intoxicated smoker. That, my friends, is why strong cigars are best tolerated on a full tummy. You have food in there, which is busily keeping your pancreas and liver doing their jobs and plenty of moisture in the food to at least maintain remedial hydration.

The moral of the story is, don't start out in a deprived state. Don't fire a cigar unless you know youre already well hydrated. Drink water, or some other hydrating (clear) liquid while you tug. If then, you still feel the signs of impending doom, the coke (not the hydrochloride) will stave it off... assuming you have the good sense to put the smoke down for a few minutes.

My stomach rumbles and I'm gassy without smoking!

The only "Buzz" that I know I had was the ones that made me sick. Otherwise I really don't feel any different. I'm not addicted to cigars...really.....I can quit when ever I want.....
