GAR cigar changes blend?

Has anyone noticed a change in the flavor of the GAR cigar?
When these first came out I noticed a very distinct flavor that I have yet managed to put my finger on.
After smoking a few, I found myself really enjoying these guys, but I would get pissed because I just couldn't figure out what that taste was.
Well I have bought several of these cigars and have enjoyed them immensely, although it still chap's my ass I cant figure out that flavor.
Anyway, I just restocked, and that unique flavor is gone. Still a good smoke, but the flavor that was driving me mad to pin-point is gone.
I still have a few of the originals (smoking 1 now) and guess I should hold on to them.
Anyone know that flavor I'm trying to pinpoint?

Re: GAR cigar changes blend?

I just bought a 12 pack from Holts and wasn't impressed with them. I'm not sure if that's the new blend or old. They've become a golf course cigar.

Re: GAR cigar changes blend?

No problem if you ever have any questions just let me know.
I always set aside the tabaccos we are going to use at the factory for a production run.
The G.A.R. had a production of 750k for the year and wont be produce again until the end of this year. So all G.A.R. you buy now are about 8 months old. It is a hand made product and some time we do get a few imperfect cigars so let me know. If you like the regular G.A.R. try the Lux & Vanguard i think you'll like them.

Sorry George, didn't mean to hurt, I have actually never tried the cigars. I just saw the opportunity to add a little levity with a visual that came to mind when I saw the thread title. Please accept a little RG with a smile.

Re: GAR cigar changes blend?

I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way. Just like some people like vanilla and some people like chocolate. I like a full body, full strength cigar that hits you in the face with spice. It was full bodied just didn't hit me like an LFD DL does. The construction and burn was perfect.

George

Send me a PM with your address, and I will send you 1 of each.. The old 1 and the new 1.
There is quite a difference and storage is not the issue, at least on my end .

Thanks

Greg
