Mosaico vs Consuegra

I came across this description of Mosaico in the Famous catalog:

Handmade cigars are a medley of rich-tasting overruns produced at General Cigar's factories in Danli and Corfradia, Honduras, home to such brands as Hoyo de Monterrey, Punch, Don Tomás, Helix, and Sancho Panza, and others.

Are Consuegras also seconds of Punch and HdM?

Do Mosaico and Consuegra come from the same factories? Connies are usually more expensive ($2/stick, whereas Mosaico are $1/stick).

How do they compare to each other?

Re: Mosaico vs Consuegra

Well, I've got some of both. The Mosaico Ecuador and Cameroon are good. The little Cameroon perfectos are Don Tomas 2nds. I don't know what the Ecuador is, but I like them. I've read that the Sumatras are not good. Can't back that up. The Mosaicos are supposed to be running out . Maybe Famous bought up a wholesale lot of those cigars, a one-time deal.

The Consuegras I recommend are the 72's and 9's. EMS or maduro. They discontinued one of my favorites, the 2nds of the Chateau M. Sad but true. Connies are some of the best bargains out there IMO. Connies are 2nds of Punch ERDM Hoyo, etc.

Famous has a line of cheap smokes called the Value Line Honduran 500 that comes in 3 shades and they are all good. The Habano is the best, spicy and medium bodied. The Maduros add a little sweetness and are slightly milder. The Connecticut is mild. Good smokes for the money. Plasencia makes them. Sometimes they sell out, then re-appear in the catalog.

I was wondering about Famous' claim that the Mosaico was a 2nd of Punch and Hoyo myself. I was surprised by that since I know Connies are 2nds of Punch etc. That I can't tell you, but maybe someone knows. There is a member here, but I can't remember his name, who works at Famous. He would know, if he can tell us, that is.
