Humidifying Dry Cigars

What would be the best way to try and re-humidify about 6 cigars. I was gifted some and they are dried out. Thanks for the info.

Re: Humidifying Dry Cigars

I had someone gift me a R&J that he said he didn't like. It was hard as a rock, so no wonder he didn't like it!! I just put it in with the rest of my smokes. Its been sitting in my humidor for about a year and feels normal now.

I would guess that you would want to do it slowly so as not to crack the wrapper.

As slowly as you can. Ive never done it but my friend incredmentally increased humidity over about 3mos on a box of dry gars. Try and figure out what their RH is right now and increase about 2-3% a week until you get to your desired RH, then let them rest another three.

Re: Humidifying Dry Cigars

If your humidor is working correctly, simply put the dry cigar(s) in the bottom and forget about them for a few months, 3 at least, then check. They should be fine by them. If they've been dry for a looooong time, the taste might not be 100% but they should be smokable.
