Father's Day and Indepenence Day smokes

We are coming up on two days which will probably be big cigar days (not that this crowd needs an excuse to have a smoke ). I am curious if any one is planning anything special for them.

For my part, I am saving a Pepin "My Father" for Pop's Day and have two extras one for my dad and one for my brother.

As for the 4th, I am planning on going with a CAO America Bottlerocket. Feel that this one is also fitting for the day.

The only apprehension I have is that I have never tried these two blends so I hope the group likes them.

So anyone else planning some special smokes of these two holidays?

I gave my son a Padron 1964 sampler for Christmas so I'm hoping he might break them out for Father's Day. Haven't thought about the 4th yet but I'm guessing it will be a multiple cigar day for me

Re: Father's Day and Indepenence Day smokes

The america is a good smoke. The few that I had were good but not outstanding. The wrappers towards the end started to peel off. Other than that it is good. I just like to commemerate the 4th with an america smoke. Since I have no money for the camacho liberties

Not a father but will smoke an Anejo since they come out around that time of year. For the 4th I think I will fire up a 2005 Liberty and a CAO America Monument.

I really enjoy most of CAO's stuff esp Lx2 and Gold maduro. I tried the America and didn't like it much but I think I'll give them another chance eventually.

I think that both a Padron Anniversary and a "My Father" would be appropriate for Father's Day. Unfortunately for me, my father-in-law and grandfather-in-law will both be in town and they don't look to fondly on the leaf...*sigh

Re: Father's Day and Indepenence Day smokes

I figured that on July 4th, a lot of CAO America and Camacho Liberty's might be lit up. I do have a CAO America thats been sitting for awhile that I'll probably smoke.

As for fathers day. I'm not a father yet, I will one day. But I'll probably smoke something for my Grandpa that passed away over 5 years ago. I found out not too long ago that he smoked cigars. My mom told me he used to smoke a bunch of King Edwards cigars. So I don't know if I should buy one of those (don't really want too haha), or smoke something else. But any smoke to commemorate the life of someone is going to be memorable...be it a machine made King Edward, or a handmade premium.

Re: Father's Day and Indepenence Day smokes

Fathers Day I most likely will do a X and a My Father. I won't see my Dad until the 4th, so I will most likely break out something good for dads day.

On that note, my Dad does smoke, but he doesn't like the larger rings, darker raps. He inhales, so he likes the lighter sticks. If I could get him to not inhale and enjoy a '32/My Father/X etc... it would tickle me pink. He's a simple man and in his words " if I spurge on a smoke, I will pay $1 a stick..."... He does like the ESV's but I usually but robustos and that is too big. I try to tell him, he doesn't have to finish it....

I'm going to my B&M this weekend to pick up a smoke for July the 4th. I want to get something special, just haven't figured out what.
