Coolidor Question

K.. I have a coolidor with about 9 or 10 boxes in it.. holds humidity and temp very well.. i also have a glasstop 300 ct that i keep all my singles in.. Do those of you out there that have coolidors smoke right out of them? or put them im a real humi to rest first? I can't tell if its me or not but i feel sticks may taste difft out of my coolidor than out of my humi.. is it just me??

If I'm planning on having something in the evening or at night then i'll throw it from the cooler to my desktop the day of. Otherwise, like if it's spur of the moment, i just smoke right out the cooler.

Assuming humi and temp are consistent between the two, the main difference would be the presence of spanish cedar. In my experience desktop/cabinet humidors often have a stronger cedar scent compared to cooliders which contain boxes (admittedly made of spanish cedar). Also, I suppose the mingling between different sticks will have an effect on their taste, but I suspect that this takes considerable time.

I smoke straight from my 150 qt cooler and from my 3 desktops, no difference that I can tell.

When I used to smoke out of my coolerdor I didnt notice a difference either

Lots of BOTLs put some spanish cedar in the coolador for humidity stability and aroma (therapy) above and beyond what the boxes might give....

I smoke 'em from the cooler or humis with no difference in taste. The cedar does make a differnece I'm sure but the sticks in the coolador are mostly in their original cedar boxes.

I gotta go with the rest of the boys here,,,I don't notice any difference in quality or taste at all. Every time I buy a box and it has cedar in there I put it in the coolerador and now when I open the lid it's such a rush of good cedary smell. I put boxes, 5 paks, singles ( with cello on ) and it's wonderful. Store with confidence.
