I once had a kickin' deal on a brick of Partagas Black Prontos. I couldn't understand why they were going so cheap, until I re-read the description and discovered to my horror that it was really just one tin. Fortunately, someone else came along and made the same mistake and out-bid me. Whew, close call! Be careful out there, Brothers!

I don't know if CI would bid up on their products on c-bid, it certainly is possible, but would be very unethical... Who knows???

I do think there are bidding junkies, people who have money throw around, and there are some that just don't understand the functionalties of c-bid.

For me, once the price has passed beyond a good deal, I simply don't bid or lose out and try again...

I can say I have gotten some pretty decent deals there though, and while I do support the local merchant when I want to try a new cigar or want one immediately I certainly will spend there, but for financial reasons, I am forced to use c-bid, CI, JR, or whoever has the best deals...

Two words: Auction Fever.

With many people it becomes more about the win than the price. Sucks for the rest of us, but not much we can do about it.

I would be very shocked to find out that cbid employees were bidding on the items. That has the potential to open them up to millions of dollars worth of lawsuits. I would not be surprised at all if cbid had a strict policy in place that makes sure no employee is ever allowed to bid there, even for their own personal use.

i know how you feel. as a result i've ordered two boxes of arganese from famous for more than half off and free shipping. i think i will give c-bid a break for the summer and just chill out.

Cbid does seem to go higher during the summer months.. I was scoring some killer deals Dec-Apr when I was building up my stash... I quit watching when I came home to two humidors packed to the gills but I have been looking again recently and have not seen very many good deals that I just had to jump on due to IDS

I just became guilty.... I bid on a lot of what I thought were coronas, only to find out after bidding with an auto bid of $50 that I was bidding on pequenos that you can buy for $30... So I'm an idiot.

I always check with CHIMP before I bid on anything. If I'm one of the 1st bidders I will always start low and set the max bid to the CHIMP minimum.

On a side note...has anyone tried the "Make Me and Offer" thing on CI? Are there any deals to be had there?
