heat stress and cigars, dont mix

well its been a pretty stressful week for me,so much that i just cant shake it, so i decided to go to the patio and light one of my favorite sticks and maybe relax for 45min or so, but NO that's just not the way my week is going, between the 96 degree temp and and just not being able to relax i just could not enjoy or for that matter figure out the flavors in my cigar, i do manage to nub it, but all said and done i went back into the house feeling just as bad as when i started, so if ive seemed to be a little pissy on any of the other threads, please forgive me. it been a hard week.

No worries man, we all have our ups and downs.. ive been feeling the same way.. trying to purchase my first house, was supposed to close the last week and april, and here we are... still not closed... One thing after another..

just remember things ALWAYS get better, and ALWAYS find a way to work themselves out...

Sorry to hear that....

Cigars do help with stress. But when it gets too hot (90 +) I can't sit outside and smoke!

I am sure things will get better soon. I'm also sure the temperature doesn't help much either! It's been getting to the mid 90's here as well...but you probably have a higer humidity down there. I don't know what your schedule is like, but I like to smoke in the evenings when it is a little bit cooler outside. Also with an ice cold glass of...something. Beer, water, tea, pop...I'm sure will help with the heat issue a little bit. Just keep your head up man! Things will get better soon!

Re: heat stress and cigars, dont mix

I hear ya Joe,,,when it gets hot here in HOTLANTA and the humidity is kickin my a$$ the last thing I want to do is take out a cigar and have sweat rolling down my shirt into my glass of beer. I usually wait til night to go out and smoke or I just take a yard gar and do the yard in the early evening.

Orlando is not by any water so you might want to do a little traveling down to Naples for a nice weekend,,,stay at the Ritz and smoke a cigar off your balcony while watching the ocean. That should cure you stress!

Re: heat stress and cigars, dont mix

Sorry to hear that Doc I've been a bit stressed out myself with being just too dang busy and having to move. Add in the 80% humidity and intermittent rain and it's not prime cigar weather either. Didn't really enjoy the cigar I had two nights ago, but tonight's really hit the spot. On top of that I need to fix my car (runs fine, just lots of little things going wrong), my 23 year old brother's getting married to a girl no one likes in a week and he has issues on top of that. AND they picked out some fancy tuxes that cost $150 to rent, I could buy a tux for that at Syms! And I have to find a job and an apartment in Brooklyn by August, my girlfriend is going to school there, and I have to move..again.

But hey, life goes on. Right now I'm drinking a yuengling, enjoying the after-cigar relaxation, and watching back to the future. I can't complain!

Re: heat stress and cigars, dont mix

Been there, done that. Am a site engineer that operates 24/7. Calls at all times of the day and/or night. So when I do get a few hours I definitely head out to the deck with a 'gar and a beverage to relax. We haven't been in the 90's yet here in the DC area, but soon will be...
